Nature trail: Agioi Anargyroi-Konni path
We will now watch Konnoi – St. Anargyroi nature trail
This nature trail starts from the small church of St. Anargyroi which is built on the top of a sea cave and ends on the beach of Konnos where it connects with the nature trail of Konnos – Cyclops cave. It is an easy linear trail of 1.4 km long and it won’t take you more that 30 minutes to finish it. It is located in the area of Cavo Greco in the city of Famagusta. Walking on this trail you can have a panoramic view of the sea and the Cavo Greco peninsula. This nature trail together with the trail of Konnoi – Cyclops cave, has about 400 species of plants. As you can see the area has small hard leaf vegetation and a many trees. Here you can see a large number of Phoenicean Juniper trees known as Juniperus phoenicea. Other trees in this area are pine trees and acacia trees. Also there are many endemic species of Cyprus in this area, such as Anthemis tricoloe and the Teucium micropodioides. There are many spiny burnets and bindweeds. Rabbits (Lepus europeus) and foxes (Vulpes vulpes) are two species of mammals that can be found here. Also it is very common to come across some species of reptiles, such as lizards especially in the Summer time where the temperature is very high.
