Ammochostos

   Ammochostos or else called Famagusta is located on the eastern side of the island of Cyprus.

 

    It is said that the name Ammochostos which is a Greek name, means 'hidden in the sand'.

   

    Since 1974 Ammochostos and almost half of the island is occupied by the Turkish forces. The only areas of this town that are not occupied and are presented in this website are Ayia Napa, Protaras and Paralimni.
