We are now going to watch the Nature trail of Leukothea

The nature trail of Leukothea is located between the two villages of Leukara and Lithrodontas. It is a circular trail and combines uphill and downhill but is not very difficult. It is 2.5 km long and it takes about an hour to finish it. At the top of this nature trail you can find the top of the mountain known as ‘Aetomoutti’ in Greek-Cypriot. Aetomoutti’ combines two words, Aetos meaning Eagle and moutti meaning both nose and peak. So this area in English is called ‘the peak of the Eagle’ because eagles used to live there. Walking in the nature trail of Leukothea you can see many flocks of goats. The flora of this area is large and there are many species of trees, such as pine trees, wild olive trees, a hawthorn known by the common names mosphilla, narcissus plant, wild lavender and other wild plants and flowers. When you reach the top of the trail you will have a panoramic view of the area.
